In the process of applying for a Police Clearance Certificate (commonly known as a Certificate of Good Conduct) in Kenya, the C24 is the most critical form you will handle.
What is C24 in Good Conduct?
The C24 is the official Fingerprint and Palmprint Elimination Form used by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI). It serves as the physical document where a police officer records your biometric data (rolled and plain fingerprints) during your appointment.
Key Features of the C24 Form:
- Biometric Record: It has designated spaces for all ten fingers and both palms.
- Identity Verification: It links your physical fingerprints to the application details you entered on the eCitizen portal.
- Official Stamp: Once your prints are taken, the officer in charge signs and stamps the form, making it a valid record for processing.
How to Handle the C24 Form:
- Download: After paying the Ksh 1,050 fee on eCitizen, the C24 form is generated automatically.
- Printing Rule: You must print the C24 form back-to-back (double-sided) on a single A4 sheet. Printing it on two separate pages often leads to rejection at the fingerprinting center.
- Presentation: Take this printed form to your selected fingerprinting location (DCI Headquarters or Huduma Center) along with your original ID and payment invoices.
