Steps to Update HELB Email
Method 1: Updating Without Account Access
Use this approach if you lost access to your previously registered email inbox.
1.Open the HEF Portal:Use any desktop or mobile web browser.
Navigate to portal.hef.co.ke and tap Login.
2.Trigger Email Recovery:
Click Forgot Password, then choose Forgot your Email? Update Email Here.
3.Provide Verification Data:Line must be registered to your ID.
Type your National ID number (or KCSE Index Number) alongside your active phone number.
4.Input New Email:
Type your new primary email address and click Reset Email.
5.Authorize the Change:
Open your new inbox, locate the confirmation link sent by HELB, and finalize verification.
Method 2: Updating via Profile Settings
Use this route if you can sign into the student dashboard normally.
1.Sign In:
Log into portal.hef.co.ke using your active credentials.
2.Access Profile Area:
Navigate to Profile on the main navigation panel and select Update Biodata.
3.Replace Contact Details:
Locate the email field, clear the old address, and enter your new email.
4.Submit and Authenticate:
Select Save Information and enter the dynamic verification code sent to your phone or inbox.

- Mobile Registration: The phone number used for verification must be officially registered to your National ID.
- Select Reliable Inboxes: Stick to personal providers like Gmail or Yahoo rather than temporary institutional addresses that expire.
- Paper Amendment Form: If system glitches block online updates, locate the Student Details Change Request Form in the resources tab, complete it, attach your ID copy, and upload the file back to the portal.
