Lost KCPE Certificate Replacement Requirements
Before starting your application on the QMIS portal, scan clear copies of the following mandatory documents:
- Copy of Lost Certificate or Result Slip: A copy of your original KCPE certificate or official result slip. For exams taken from 2013 onwards, result slips printed from the KNEC portal are accepted.
- Original Police Abstract: Issued by any police station in Kenya, explicitly reporting the loss of the examination certificate.

1.Create or Log In to Your QMIS Account:Required for initiating any KNEC service query.
Visit the QMIS portal at qmis.knec.ac.ke. If you do not have an account, click Register and enter your full name, mobile number, postal address, designation, and valid email address. Your login credentials will be emailed to you automatically.
2.Select ‘Lost Certificate’ and Enter Candidate Details:Ensures record matching in the KNEC database.
Log into your QMIS dashboard and click on the Lost Certificate section. Input your KCPE Index Number, select the Examination type (KCPE), select the Exam Year, and select the Exam Series. Click Find to verify your details against KNEC records.
3.Upload Clear Scanned Documents:PDF or JPEG formats accepted.
Attach all required support documents: Police Abstract, Identity Confirmation Letter, National ID/Birth Certificate, Result Slip/Certificate copy, and Passport Photo. Ensure all uploads are legible to prevent rejection.
